Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian musician and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is released in May of 2015 by Decca Records. It has received high praise from the music press and bloggers. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering a piano hidden in the attic of her home, and becoming fascinated with its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes advised her to make music as a means of development of her own, not to earn money or for as a hobby. She began writing lyrics of her own. Bjork and Leonard Cohen are among her favorite songwriters. To counter her mother's suggestion that her children shouldn't be trying at achieving fame through her songwriting, but instead be aware of the significance of them and the impact they have on society. She started playing piano when she was six years old and began writing music at the age of nine. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family until she turned fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of becoming a star. Her only passion is to write music. To her music, it is the most efficient way to express anything.
