Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian song writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away - by the Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two notable covers that the artist has done. Katy Perry's support for the song Runaway in a blog post added to the musician's recognition. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is of finding an attic piano and becoming enthralled by the sounds it would create. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music, not for a job or a hobby, but as an opportunity to grow. Her parents encouraged her to compose. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favourite songwriters. In response to her mother's suggestions that people should not be aiming at achieving fame through her songwriting, but instead be aware of the significance of them as well as their contribution to society. The piano was her first instrument at age six and creating music when she was nine. Her family didn't hear about her music until she reached fourteen. It was never a dream to be Aurora. She says she just likes to compose songs. She believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
